Club Stories
Due to Coronavirus we will be cancelling BunnyFest 2020 on April 10th and 11th, and are actively seeking a new date in late May or June.  Dr. Bob Thomas is working with the Park to set a new date in early May / June.  You will be advised as soon as that date is set.
Noel Williams is our newest Corporate Member (Legacy Restoration). He is CEO of his General Contracting Firm, Legacy Restoration. He has an MBA from Dowling University, Oakdale, NY,  a Project Management Professional Certification (PMI), and Top Secret Clearance.
After several years in Financial Operations in NY and then Atlanta, Georgia(2009-11)  he moved on to be the Logistics Manager in Afghanistan for more than 50 Marines and $6.5 million is deployment operations.  Afterward,  he served several more missions in Africa and California for Marine, Sailor and Civilian operations (2011-15).
He located to New Orleans in 2015 and for three years managed training and supervision for defense readiness. He is a United States Marine Corps Veteran.  In 2017 he started his own Company.   He will be a valued member of our Rotary Club and Rotary International.

Thursday, Jan 23, we enjoyed hearing from Taslya Breve, Director of a Daughter's Worth.  The program is dedicated to enriching the minds, bodies and souls of young girls in Greater New Orleans with no mother or father figure.  The girls between 11 and 14 are mentored by a trained team and given emotional support and personal development to help them along their way.

Rotarians Damon Batiste and Dana Ehlinger welcomed Nercio Duvane to New Orleans last week.  Nercio is a university professor from Maputo, Mozambique. He is not a Rotarian but knows the Rotary Club in Mabuto.  He is heads up a Government Youth Council for several regions in his country and represents many millions of children. The language of Mozambique is Portuguese, and one of our best Bunny Fest volunteers, Marcio Martinez (who speaks Brazilian Portuguese), and Nercio conversed about the USA and his trip.  Damon's shirt is a gift from Mozambique. Both young men are pictured before leaving to Sunday church services up river. In the tradition of their Portuguese founders most people of Mozambique are Catholics.
